I have ordered a pass INT 30A, your latest model to drive my ATC SCM19. I have tried it in the dealer shop, and I am glad to say that your INT 30A performs the best among MBL 7008, ATC SIA12 and INT30A.
But I still have three questions.
1, Since the INT30A is a class A amplifier, and the working temperature is higher than the AB class one, will it have less product life than your INT150?
2, Which could drive the ATC 19 better, the INT30 or INT 150? I did not have a chance to do the comparison.
3, Would the Ayre CX7e CD player match my sound system with your INT30?
Your early reply is highly appreciated!
Best Regards,
FZ

Dear Mr. FZ;
1) The Class A and class AB amplifiers run at the same temperature, 52 degrees C typical (see idle wattage ratings). Output devices run well below their rated wattage and temperature which is well above 200 degrees C on chip temperature. Life expectancy on the INT-30A is identical to the life expectancy on the INT-150.
2) The ATC - 19 can be driven by either the INT-150 or the INT-30A. The INT-30A will have better soundstage details. The INT- 150 will be more dynamic on large musical transients.
3) Ayre CX7e is a very fine CD player, well suited to Pass Labs INT-30A and INT-150 amplifiers.
